Gout Cherry Juice
For relief of gout cherry juice is supposed to be the best natural remedy. Cherries have been used for centuries for all sorts of ailments, including gout. For example, the Romans, because of their high purine diet, have suffered from gout and, of course, natural remedies used for relief.
To understand how cherries and diets, eliminate the symptoms of gout, it is useful to examine what is causing your gout.
The real cause of your pain is the needles of uric acid crystals that have found their way into the joints, especially in the foot (big toe), but any relationship is possible. Uric acid itself is formed when chemical compounds called purine degradation in the process helps us provide the necessary energy and protein. And purines also exist in many of our food at various levels concentrations.
So you can see a high purine diet may be linked to an increased risk of gout. Dishes to avoid high purine are red meat, minced meat, meat extracts, broth, consumption, offal (liver, heart, kidneys, brain, etc.), poultry (especially Turkey), crustaceans , seafood (e.g. herring, mackerel, sardines, fish roe), bakers and brewer's yeast, yeast extracts, beans, lentils, peas, asparagus, cauliflower, mushrooms.
As indicated above, the cherries have been widely used for centuries to help relieve gout and other ills. The cherries can lower uric acid levels in the blood of nearly 15%. They have anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory because they contain the anthocyanins.
Cherries can be eaten fresh or dried cherry juice, however, this is not the cherry juice that you find in a box of cherries in the supermarket, it must be concentrated cherry juice as you would in a natural foods store. Eat at least one cup of fresh (or dried) cherries with each meal. Otherwise, take 2 tablespoons of concentrated cherry juice per day.
The combination of cherry juice / cherry and a low purine diet may help relieve symptoms of gout without drugs.
